EFCA sits down with our Very Own CFO to help answer questions nonprofits may have regarding cryptocurrency.
SAN DIEGO, CA September 27, 2021 – As cryptocurrency giving continues to make headlines, the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA) hosted a webinar entitled, “Demystifying Cryptocurrency and Blockchain” with CFO and blockchain expert, Justin Greene. The one-hour webinar was one of ECFA’s most widely attended presentations to date and focused on helping ministries understand the basics of blockchain, cryptocurrency and how ministries can successfully navigate this new giving opportunity.
Justin Greene is a CPA and blockchain expert who serves as the Nonprofit Tax & Accounting Advisor for Engiven, Inc., a crypto donation platform that provides nonprofits the tools to easily accept and exchange cryptocurrency. Justin said, “I’ve seen the impact of cryptocurrency giving grow significantly over the last few years and I believe it’s an important asset that every ministry needs to consider accepting.”
The ECFA has a long tradition of coming alongside ministries as giving and tax trends change and as new financial opportunities for ministries arise. By providing a deeper view into cryptocurrency and blockchain, the EFCA is bringing to light the importance of this new asset.
Engiven’s CEO, James Lawrence said, “We are excited that the ECFA is taking a progressive approach to helping ministries understand the important aspects of cryptocurrency. Engiven is passionate about helping the local church and ministries of all sizes accept bitcoin and many other cryptocurrencies to the benefit of their missions.”
The ECFA’s webinar can be viewed anytime here.
