Storj is a decentralized, peer-to-peer cloud storage network. A white paper from December 2014 introduced Storj for the first time. Later, it was discussed in a revised white paper that was released in December 2016. Storj then launched in late 2018.Storj seeks to link users who have hard drive capacity to sell with customers who are wanting to buy storage space. Users are encouraged to make these purchases with Storj tokens (STORJ), however the network also accepts fiat money. The Storj network eliminates the need for consumers to rely on a reliable third party by giving users access to a P2P cloud storage network that uses end-to-end encryption. This improves a user's security, privacy, and data control while resolving the majority of conventional data breaches, failures, and outages. Currently, Storj functions as a decentralized substitute for the centralized cloud storage services offered by companies like Amazon, Dropbox, IBM, Google Drive, and others. The Storj network accepts the digital asset token STORJ as payment for services. You can buy and sell STORJ for fiat money or other virtual currencies.
