Maple Finance is an institutional borrowing and lending protocol. Every pool formed on Maple has a unique set of parameters that specify several features of the pool, such as the asset being leased to the pool, the price structure, the pool's capacity, who can access the pool, and the lockup time, among other things. On Maple Finance, each pool has a specific "Pool Delegate" who is responsible for conducting due diligence on the pool, negotiating conditions with borrowers, and liquidating the pool in the event of a default. MPL is an Ethereum network-based ERC-20 token. Governance, staking, and pool cover are examples of common use cases. The MPL-LP tokens that are given to lenders who participate in Maple Finance pools can be staked to obtain MPL incentives.
