0x is an open protocol for the peer-to-peer exchange of tokens on Ethereum. The 0x token (ZRX) powers it. 0x was initially introduced in a white paper that was released in February 2017. The 0x protocol intends to establish an open standard for decentralized applications (dApps) that want to implement decentralized exchange (DEX) functionality. The 0x protocol's governance and Relayer fees are paid with the digital asset token ZRX. It is constructed on Ethereum and adheres to the ERC20 token standard. ZRX can be purchased and traded in exchange for fiat money or other virtual currencies. ZRX can be kept in a custodian and cryptocurrency wallet.
